Planning to Give
1 Corinthians 16:1-2

1: Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
2: Upon the first day of the week let everyone of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

He instructs them to set aside weekly, offerings for the relief of the saints in Jerusalem so an offering doesn’t need to be taken when he comes.

There’s nothing wrong with planning ahead concerning giving to those in need.   You can set money aside as you receive it, as you prosper, to be used for those in need.

Your giving doesn’t have to be (and probably shouldn't be) a spur of the moment, emotional decision made during offerings in a church service.  You can plan ahead and purpose to give in accordance with your budget.

Confession:

As I prosper and receive income myself, I will give to those in need.  I will set aside for those saints that need help.

Obedience is a tree of life!
