Stand Fast
Philippians 4:1-3

  1. Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
  2. I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
  3. And I entreat thee also, true yoke-fellow; help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow-labourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Stand fast or stand firm in the Lord.  Being a Christian doesn’t mean everything will go smooth and easy without any bumps in the road.  At times we have to stand firm in Him.  We have to stand firm in our faith.  There may be temptations, discouragements etc.  that if you were to yield to could keep you from going forward in the Lord.

Stand fast.  Don’t give up the ground you’ve covered so far.  Hold on to that which you have learned and received from the Lord.  Don’t let the enemy take it from you.  We stand and keep standing by faith.

He also tells them to help those women who labored with him.  As we stand firm in our faith we are to encourage one another to do the same.  As the body helps each other in their ministry and calling we begin to function as the Lord intends His body to operate.

Confession:

I will stand firm in my faith.  I will not give up or go back.  I will not allow the enemy to take from me what I’ve received of the Lord so far.  I will help others to stand fast in their faith as well.

Obedience is a tree of life!
