Again I say rejoice
Philippians 4:4-5

  1. Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
  2. Let your moderation be known unto all men.  The Lord is at hand.

Again he says to rejoice in the Lord-always.  The Amplified Bible says to "delight, gladden yourselves in Him."  Rejoicing and delighting in the Lord strengthens us spiritually.  The joy of the Lord is your strength, (Nehemiah 8:10).

As we rejoice in Him we are focusing on His goodness and glory and not on ourselves or the problems that may be presented to us.  As we cast our cares upon Him we truly can rejoice in Him because He brings rest and peace to our hearts.

Verse 5 says let your moderation (mild and appropriate behavior), be known to all.  Our behavior in Christ is not something to hide.  It’s something to let be seen.  The rest and peace and joy that He gives to our hearts needs to be seen by all for a testimony to the goodness of God.  So rejoice, rest and delight yourselves in Him unashamedly.

Confession:

I will rejoice always in the Lord.  I will delight myself in Him.  I will not hide the Spirit He’s given me.  I will let it be known to all men.

Obedience is a tree of life!
