May 26 Philippians 4:9
He encourages them to put into practice the things they’ve learned. He’s not just talking about knowledge they’ve stored up in their minds. But what they’ve learned, received, heard and seen. He’s describing more than just learning facts and theories. He’s talking about receiving from the Spirit of God; experiencing and witnessing the Word of God put into practice in every day life. Seeing the Word of God lived out in the lives of others that know him well, as well as learning and receiving instruction from them, gave them an example of how to apply the Word into their lives. We should watch and learn from those who are living successful Christian lives.
Confession: I will put into practice those things I’ve learned, received, heard and seen. I will learn from those who have applied the Word of God to their lives and are living a successful Christian life. Those who are doers of the Word. I won’t copy what they do apart from what God has revealed to me but I will learn from their example.
Obedience is a tree of life!
