May 5 Ephesians 5:18-20
Rather than being drunk with wine he says to be filled with the Spirit of God. He then goes on to say how to do that. What he describes in verses 19 and 20 is worship. Worship of the Lord by the Spirit of God. What this is telling us is to speak out and sing, to praise and celebrate, to worship with voices and instruments and to always give thanks to the Lord. That is worship. As we worship the Lord in this way by the Spirit of God our lives are touched and forever changed by Him. There’s nothing that compares to being in His presence. Being drunk with wine is such a deception. The presence of God is much more enjoyable.
Confession: Rather than being drunk with alcohol I choose to worship the Lord and get into His presence. I will celebrate and sing to Him, always giving thanks.
Obedience is a tree of life!
