The Whole Armor of God
Ephesians 6:10-17

  1. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
  2. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
  3. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
  4. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
  5. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
  6. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
  7. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
  8. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Put on the whole armour of God.  Put on all of it.  Be strong in His power.  The battles we fight are not fought with our own strength but with His.  We’re not wrestling against flesh and blood.  Your fight is not against people!  But it’s against your spiritual enemy-the devil and the spiritual wickedness.  That’s why we need the Lords armour to fight.

Thank God He has give us this armour.  Truth, Righteousness, Preparation of the gospel of peace, Shield of faith, Helmet of salvation and the Sword of the Spirit.

The breastplate of righteousness is not something we earn, but something we put on—Jesus Christ is our righteousness, (1 Corinthians 1:30).

Notice that the shield of faith quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked, not some but all.

And the Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.  All of this armour is related to the Word of God either written, living or spoken.

Confession:

I put on the whole armour of God so I can stand against the strategies and deceits of the devil.  I stand with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—the Word of God.
