Done With Wickedness
1 Peter 2:1

  1. Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
  1. So be done with every trace of wickedness (depravity, malignity) and all deceit and insincerity (pretense, hypocrisy) and grudges (envy, jealousy) and slander and evil speaking of every kind. The Amplified Bible

Since we are born again by the incorruptible seed of the Word of God as he says in 1 Peter 1:23, we are told to lay aside and be done with all malice, guile, hypocrisies, envies and evil speaking.

We can’t successfully lay aside these things until we’re born again.  His Word makes us new creatures in Christ and until we are, we will not be able to "be done with every trace of wickedness."

But now that we are born-again our hearts are changed and our desires change as well.  Now our inner man desires to please God.  Now the inner motivation is there to desire to do what’s good and right in His sight.  And once that desire is there we can begin to make progress and grow in our spiritual life as he says in verse 2.

Confession:

I lay aside all wickedness, deceit, insincerity, jealousies and evil speaking.  I desire to please God and be done with every trace of wickedness.

Obedience is a tree of life!
