November 10 1 Peter 3:7
Husbands are told to live with their wives "according to knowledge" or as the Amplified says, "Considerately…with an intelligent recognition of the marriage relation." He says to give honor to the wife as the (physically) weaker one. But remember that you are both heirs together of God’s grace. If the honor or respect is not there between husband and wife then their prayers may be hindered. If it seems that your prayers are being hindered this is an area to look at. How are you treating your wife? (or husband). It’s important we recognize each other’s value to the Lord. We are heirs together of the grace of God and if we don’t remember that and we start to become unappreciative in our relationships with each other it will hinder our prayers. It says in James 3:16 that where there is envy and strife there is confusion and every evil work. We don’t want confusion and every evil work in any area of our lives! And as we walk together in agreement the power of God is available to us in a great way (See Matthew 18:19)!
Confession: I realize the importance of relationships. I will keep disrespect and dishonor out of my relationships. As I walk in agreement with my brothers and sisters without envy or strife, God’s presence and power will manifest in a greater way and my prayers will not be hindered. Husbands: I will give honor to my wife as a fellow heir of God’s grace. I will not mistreat her. As a result our prayers together will become powerful.
Obedience is a tree of life!
