November 11 1 Peter 3:8
The scriptures often come back to brotherly love, kindness and unity. He just discussed husband and wife relationships and now he says for all to be of one mind, compassionate, loving, kindhearted and humble. We need to take the time to be compassionate and kind. It’s easy to go on about our business throughout the day and not think too much about how we are treating the people who we make contact with. We have schedules we need to keep and things we need to get done and it’s easy to take care of business without paying much attention to the people around us. We can carry this frame of mind not only in our dealings with the world but in our dealings with our brothers and sisters as well. Are we looking for unity or are we looking to fulfill our own agenda? Are we looking for God’s plan to be done or for our own ideas to be promoted? As we work together in unity towards the plan of God, not only in major plans but also in the day to day dealings we have with others, we’ll be bringing the presence of God into our midst and by that we’ll be bringing His life to all the situations we face.
Confession: I will be kind and courteous to everyone and I will look for unity and compassion with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I will not look to promote my ideas and plans or myself, but to promote God and His plans.
Obedience is a tree of life!
