Be Ready to Answer
1 Peter 3:15

  1. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
  1. But in your hearts set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge Him] as Lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to any one who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully. The Amplified Bible

He said in verse 14 not to be afraid of threats and intimidations from those who oppose you for righteousness’ sake and in this verse he says what to do instead of being afraid.  We are to set Christ apart as holy in our hearts and acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives.  We’re to always be ready to give an answer to those who ask about the hope we have within us.  And our answer should be with meekness and respect.

We need to settle in our hearts the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord of our life and we serve Him above everything else.  That will make it easier not to waver in our faith when people oppose our beliefs.  Jesus Christ is the foundation we build on and we need to determine within ourselves that He is our Lord.  We can’t waver about this or everything else we try to say in response to those who oppose us will not hold up.

We have such a great hope within us in Jesus Christ and as we realize the extent of that we’ll be able to answer those that oppose us in such a way that will bring truth to their lives.

 

Confession:

I determine in my heart to set Jesus Christ apart as holy.  I acknowledge Him as Lord of my life.  I will be ready to answer those that oppose or inquire about the hope I have in Him.  I will answer them with meekness and respect speaking truth to them.

Obedience is a tree of life!
