Think it not Strange
1 Peter 4:12

  1. Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

When difficult times come we’re not to think that’s strange.  It’s not unusual or odd for difficult times to come.  If we are persecuted or suffer as a result of our Christianity that’s not unusual.

As long as we live in the earth there will be confrontation against evil.  It may not be confrontation in the same way we’ve been used to.  We don’t fight flesh and blood (See 2 Corinthians 10:3).  But when the goodness, life, love, power, presence and Truth of God that is in our lives faces the evil and darkness that is in the world then there’s a confrontation.

The darkness that we face may put up a fuss and may present itself to us in a variety of ways to see if it can stick around and overtake us.  But thank God the light overcomes the darkness!  This isn’t unusual and we shouldn’t be afraid or feel guilty thinking we’ve done something wrong to deserve this.  We just need to walk in the victory that Jesus provided for us and stand on the promises of the Word of God that says we are overcomers (1 John 5:4).

Confession:

I realize it’s not strange or unusual for difficult times to come.  I will not think it’s strange.  I’ll not be afraid or feel guilt but I will overcome and walk in the victory Jesus Christ has provided!

Obedience is a tree of life!
