November 24 1 Peter 4:13
In verse 12 he said not to think it’s strange when we go through difficult times, now he says what to do instead—rejoice! That’s not a natural reaction in the flesh when things get tough. We may not feel like rejoicing. We may feel like crawling in a hole and hiding or running away or whatever. But he says here to rejoice. As we read yesterday, when darkness faces light there’s a confrontation. We rejoice in those situations because we overcome the darkness. To whatever extent we are sharing in Christ’s suffering—the extent of the darkness—we can rejoice knowing when His glory is revealed we will be rejoicing triumphantly. No matter how hard it may seem that’s just that much more of an opportunity for His glory to be revealed.
Confession: I will rejoice and keep on rejoicing when difficult times come, knowing that when the glory of God is revealed I will be rejoicing triumphantly.
Obedience is a tree of life!
