November 27 1 Peter 4:19
Peter is continuing his discussion about Christians suffering. He says here to let them who suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him, as a faithful Creator. What is suffering according to His will? In context with what he's been saying it means the trouble that comes as a result of living for God. It means trouble because of your decision to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. It could be persecution or harassment that comes because of your Christianity, or it could be the suffering that comes as a result of choosing to live God's way and not give in to sinful behavior. The right choice is not always the easiest choice so there may be a "suffering" that comes because you've made a decision that was not the easy way out. When trouble of this type comes, you're to commit the keeping of your soul to Him as a faithful Creator. God is faithful to His Word and to His promises and you can trust Him as the One who judges righteously. He sees the difficult choices you have to make.
Confession: I will commit my soul to my faithful Creator during difficult times of suffering trouble.
Obedience is a tree of life!
