November 9 1 Peter 3:3-4
He’s still talking to wives and he’s saying to spend more time on the inner man than on the outer man. We can get so wrapped up in how we look on the outside—our hair, our clothes and our jewelry—that we neglect the more important inner man—our spirit. The hidden man of the heart is our inner man or spirit. You don’t see a person’s spirit at first glance. You see their physical body. But the inner man is the real you. That is the part of you that will live forever. That is the part of you that communicates with God. And that is the part of us that we need to nurture and learn to listen to. He says to adorn ourselves with the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit which is very valuable in the eyes of God. The Amplified Bible says, "the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which (is not anxious or wrought up but) is very precious in the sight of God."
Confession: I will spend more time adorning my inner man than my outer man. I will take the time I need to pursue my spiritual growth. I realize that is more valuable to God than outward appearance.
Obedience is a tree of life!
