13. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

If we are to be seen as wise and knowledgeable then we are to show by our good lifestyle our good deeds with the kindness of wisdom.  True wisdom is not just how much a person knows.  It’s not how many scriptures a person can recite or locate.  It’s not how much school a person has had.  True wisdom is shown in action.  It’s shown by the kindness of wisdom.  If a person is truly full of the wisdom and knowledge of God He will also be full of the love and character of God.

Verse 17 says the wisdom that is from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated (reasonable or willing to yield), full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality (wavering) and without hypocrisy.  A person who is wise doesn’t always have to be right or get his own way.  A person who is wise will show by his/her lifestyle the nature and character of God.

Confession:

I desire the wisdom and knowledge of God.  I will show the good deeds of wisdom and knowledge by a good lifestyle with the kindness of wisdom.
