7. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is coming again.  This time it won’t be to die but it will be a glorious coming.  James says here to remain patient until His coming.  We must remain patient and expectant of Him coming just as a farmer waits expectantly for the fruit of the land he has been working hard for.  He waits for the rain that will bring forth the fruit.  In the same way, we must realize that our efforts are not in vain but we know and expect the Lord will come just as the rain will come and then the fruit.

The farmer plans for the harvest.  His whole life revolves around the harvest that is coming.  He knows it’s coming and he expects it and prepares for it.  We’re not to doubt and become discouraged concerning the coming of the Lord but we are to prepare for it, expect it and live our lives accordingly.

Confession:

I will be patient unto the coming of the Lord.  I expect it and prepare for it and live accordingly.  I know the rain is coming and I know Jesus is coming as well!
