A Multitude of Sins
James 5:19-20

  1. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
  2. Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Let him know that he who turns a sinner (or any one of us who errs from the truth), from the error of his way saves that one’s soul and also covers a multitude of sins.  One sinner’s life is full of sin.  And if that person is not converted then he will continue to commit sin the rest of his life.  But if he is converted not only is he saved from eternal death but there will be a multitude of sin he will never commit (The sin he does commit is atoned for by the blood of Jesus, but there is a multitude of sin Jesus will not have to have paid for).

We need to know that when just one sinner is converted, a multitude of sin is wiped out.  A multitude of heartache will never occur.  A multitude of misery is saved and that person is saved from death for eternity!  That’s why there is such joy in heaven when one sinner is converted (Luke 15:7).  We should rejoice as well!

Confession:

I realize that if I help to convert one sinner from the error of his ways that I save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.  I will rejoice over a person’s repentance and coming to the knowledge of the truth!

Obedience is a tree of life!
