Rejoice in all Circumstances
James 1:9-10

  1. Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
  2. But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

These verses are in the middle of his discussion about trials and temptations.  The brother of low degree, or those in humble circumstances, need to rejoice that he is exalted.  But the rich should rejoice in being humbled because riches are not something we can trust in that will endure.  They are as a flower that fades away under the heat of the sun.

As we face difficult times all of us, no matter what our circumstance is, are to use our faith and allow patience to work in us.  Our faith is to be solidly based on the Lord and not on anything in this natural world.  If we have need we’re to rejoice that the Lord will meet that need.  If we are rich we are to rejoice in our humility before the Lord, knowing our riches are not what we base our faith and trust in.

Faith in God and His Word along with allowing patience to work brings everyone to a place of equality in Him!

Confession:

I will rejoice no matter what circumstance I’m in knowing that because of my faith in Him it doesn’t matter what my situation in life is.  I know as I trust in Him and allow patience to work the end result will be good!

Obedience is a tree of life!
