A Kingdom Which Cannot be Moved
Hebrews 12:28

  1. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

God’s Kingdom cannot be moved.  The Kingdom of God is true and real and it is more true and real than this world.  We can build ‘kingdoms’ to ourselves here on earth and we can judge incorrectly our success based upon how big or strong our kingdom is.

But when it’s all said and done only the Kingdom of God will stand.  Everything that can be shaken, as in things that are made or created, will be removed so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain (verse 27).  Because of this, we are to continue on and serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.  God is not going to change.  His ways are truth and we must submit to Him, not the other way around.  Our kingdom will never outlast His kingdom.

Knowing that His Kingdom will stand when the earth will not is a very humbling thought and we need to take care that we are operating according to the principals of His Kingdom and not just building a kingdom with things that will not stand in the end anyway.

Confession:

I realize that God’s ways are truth and I submit to Him and His ways.  I will not endeavor to build a kingdom to myself with the things of this world.  The Kingdom of God will stand and I will serve Him according to the principals of His Kingdom.  He will not change.  His Kingdom is secure.
