September 22 Hebrews 13:1
This is such a short statement and we could so easily overlook it, but Brotherly Love is so important. Love is the command of the New Testament. Jesus said it summed up the entire law. Love is the fulfilling of the law (Romans 13:10, Matthew 22:40). The fact that he says to let it continue shows that we can choose to let it or not let it. Love is a choice and we need to make the choice to walk in love no matter how we feel or what people do to us. We have the choice to continue in love. Love for our fellow believers is especially important. The Lord addresses that issue in other places as well. Jesus said people will know we are His disciples by our love one for another (John 13:35). Instead of fighting and arguing amongst ourselves we are to encourage and exhort one another. Thank God we can because we have the love of God within us!
Confession: I make a choice to let brotherly love continue in my life. I choose to walk in love towards every one and especially towards my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Obedience is a tree of life!
