Angels Unawares
Hebrews 13:2

We shouldn’t forget or neglect to be hospitable to strangers.  You just never know who it is you are ministering to.  He says here some have entertained angels unawares.  Some have had contact with angels and not realized it.  Lot was visited by 2 angels in Sodom who ate a meal with him and even stayed the night at his house (Genesis 19).

It may not always be obvious who it is we are dealing with.  Angels are ministering spirits who are sent to minister for those who are heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14).  Angels are sent by God to minister for us so it’s not unreasonable to think we may come across them at times.  Although if we do, we may not realize it’s an angel we are dealing with.

We must realize however, that they are sent by God to carry out His commands so we’re not to pray to angels or look to them personally for guidance but to the message they may bring to us from the Lord.

Confession:

I will remember to be hospitable and courteous to strangers.  It may not be obvious from outward appearances who it is I’m dealing with so I will be hospitable to everyone.
