September 30 Hebrews 13:16
He calls doing good and communicating (sharing), sacrifices that God is well pleased with. In the Old Testament there were mandatory sacrifices to atone for sin and there were voluntary sacrifices offered as worship to God. Today, Jesus is our "mandatory" sacrifice offered to cleanse us of our sin. He did that for us because we couldn’t possibly do it on our own. But then there are "voluntary" acts of worship to God we offer as an expression of our thankfulness to Him. Doing good and sharing with others is one example of that. And God is well pleased with sacrifices such as that. Again, it’s not that we earn anything by ‘doing good.' We do good because we’ve received His forgiveness and cleansing. We’ve been made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ and out of an expression of our new Godly nature and our thankfulness to Him we do good.
Confession: I offer the sacrifices of doing good and sharing as an expression of worship to my Heavenly Father. Father God, I am thankful for all You’ve done and provided for me and I will express that thankfulness in words and in deeds.
Obedience is a tree of life!
