A Mighty Force

February 12, 2004

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.  Psalm 60:12

It’s time for us, as the people of God, to take the place as the mighty force in the earth that God has intended for us.  This word here ‘valiantly’ means ‘a force.’  It means an army or strength.  It also means valor or courage.  It also means riches and substance. And it also means virtue.  All of these things are a force that God intends for us to display through Him in order to triumph over our enemies.

God intends for us to be a mighty army that is holy, courageous and wealthy.  Being an army means that we are well trained and ready to do battle against the forces of evil.  We understand that there is a fight to fight and we’re ready to fight the good fight of faith.  An army also means that we are not working alone.  We understand the strength of our numbers together.  We are united together, working together to accomplish the direction of our Leader.  In this army, we each take our place and follow in step with the rest of the body of Christ.  We’re not islands unto ourselves.  God has called us to band together.  We’ve got to walk in love and unity with the rest of the body!

God intends for us to be courageous.  He doesn’t want His people full of fear and worry.  He doesn’t want us shying away from the things He’s set before us to do.  He doesn’t want His people intimidated by the world and their rudeness, sarcasm and defiance against the things of God.  We are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We are not ashamed to live for Him and to speak for Him.  He doesn’t want to hear us say, "I can’t," because He’s told us we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  God wants His people to rise up in boldness and display the mighty force of God in their lives!

God intends for us to be holy.  We have no business dabbling in sin and participating in things that are ungodly.  If we could just realize how we play into the devil’s hand when we continue in sin.  If we could just realize how we hurt our Lord Jesus who paid such a great price for us to live free from sin.  If we could just see the damage that is done when we defy the Word of God.  If we just had enough wisdom to see that it’s God’s mercy that is keeping us from seeing all this right now.  But we need to understand that there is a day coming when God’s mercy will be shown through judgment and not delay.  Judgment will begin in the house of God.  It’s time decide which side of the fence we will be on.

God intends for us to be prosperous.  He is not the one withholding good from you.  God is your Source.  God is the One who supplies you with what you need to accomplish His will in the earth.  He doesn’t want an army that’s dressed in dirty old unmatched uniforms with weapons that are out of date and inoperative.  God wants His army to have the best, look the best and be the most well-trained, disciplined, loving army around!  We represent Him.  He wants to show off His goodness and might.  How else is He going to do it except through His people!

God wants to show Himself triumphantly in the earth over our enemy.  He doesn’t want you walking around defeated, discouraged and in debt.  Let’s show the world how mighty our God is!  Let’s show the devil how much greater God is than him!  Let’s determine to be this mighty army for God!  Enlist today!

God Bless you and have a great day!
