20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21: Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

1: I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Most people probably have no trouble believing that God can do "exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think".  But do we believe He does it according to the power that works in us?

How do we walk worthy of that which God has called us to do?  By the power of God that works within us!  And we must realize that God is able to do much more than we could ever ask or even think.  But the power to do all that is within us!

As we seek the Lord for His will in our lives, let’s not toss aside the dreams He brings to us just because we think, "Oh there’s no way He could use me to do that."

I heard schoolteacher say one time that children will never rise above that which they expect they can do.  If we don’t expect that we can keep from sin, we won’t be able to.  If we don’t expect that we can overcome problems and be a success in life then we won’t.  If we don’t expect that we can fully accomplish that which God has called us to do, then we won’t.

That’s not the power of positive thinking, it’s power that’s been made available to us through the shed blood of Jesus Christ and it’s us putting faith in Him that causes this to work!  We know in and of ourselves we can’t overcome in this life but thank God we’ve got the Greater One living inside of us.

Increase your expectations!  Expect the Word of God to come alive in your life.  Expect to overcome and be more than conquerors in that which God has called you to do!
