How do we know God is good?  We know that by looking at Jesus.  Jesus did the works of God.  Jesus said:

So we know Jesus did the works which the Father gave Him to do.  Those works were good works, (Acts 10:38, John 10:33), they were mighty works, (Matt 13:54, Matt. 14:2, Mark 6:2, 14, Luke 19:37), they were works of healing, (John 9:3-4).

Revelation 15:3 tells us that God’s works are great and marvelous.   So we know that God is good because Jesus showed us the Father.  The works Jesus did show us who God is.  And the works He did were good works.

He is good and He did good works through Jesus, but He wants to continue to do good today.  How?  Through His people.  Through His body.  We who believe in Him are the body of Christ. We are how He does good works in the earth today.

Jesus answered a question someone asked Him about how they could do the works of God and He said the work of God is to believe in Who He’s sent, (John 6:28-29).  He also said those who believe will do greater works than He did, (John 14:12).

The first thing we are to do if we want to do the good works He did is to believe and when we do, He begins a good work in us (Phillipians 1:6).

Jesus finished the work God sent Him to do, (John 17:4).  Now we are to carry on the work of the Father.  We are told to always abound in the work of the Lord, (1 Cor. 15:58), and to keep His works unto the end, (Rev. 2:26).

He has a specific plan and purpose for your life.  He has a good work for you to do which was in His plans before the beginning of time.
