Every good and perfect gift comes from God.  Every one.  If you received something good, it came from God.

And if you have accepted Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for your sin then you’ve been made righteous and can walk uprightly before Him.  And if you walk uprightly before Him then He will not withhold any good thing from you.  Not any.  NO GOOD THING will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

God is good and good comes from God.

Yeah but…what about Sister So and So who didn’t get healed.  Or Brother Such and Such who had that terrible thing happen to him?  I don’t know about them but I know that God doesn’t lie.  Do we put more faith in the integrity of Sister So and So then we do in God?

If we can’t believe that God means what He says in His Word then there’s no sense in us living for Him at all.  If He says things He doesn’t mean then how do we know when we can believe Him?

The truth is that God always tells the truth and He always means what He says.  If He says He will not withhold good from us then He won’t.  If He says He is the one who sends good to us then He is.

Yeah, but…I am living for the Lord, walking uprightly, but I’m lacking a lot of good in my life.  Why?  If we don’t mix the Word we hear with faith then it will not profit us.

The Word of God doesn’t do us any good if we don’t put faith in it.  If we don’t mix it with faith.  When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior you had to believe that the Word of God you were hearing was true.  You had to take a step of faith and ask Jesus to come into your life.  You had to believe that what you were hearing from the Bible was the truth and that God would keep His Word and do what He said He would do and save you.

Now that you’ve done that there are a lot of promises and blessings in the Bible that you need to receive the same way.

God is looking for people to bless.  He is looking throughout the whole earth to find those He can do good to.  Do we earn His favor or His blessing?  No.  We become upright and our heart becomes perfect towards Him as we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.  God is not waiting for us to attain a state of righteousness on our own.  He knows we never could.  That’s why He provided for our righteousness and as we receive it we receive His goodness that goes along with it.

Make a choice today to believe that God is good.  Believe that He doesn’t lie.  He is the source of all good.  And mix the Word you hear with faith so you can receive all that God wants to give you!
