Putting God First

Don’t put people above God.  Obey God first and do what He says.  If it conflicts with what people are telling you to do, that’s O.K.

"We ought to obey God rather then man." (Acts 5:29)

This doesn’t mean you rebel against those in authority over you for God tells us to submit to those in authority over us. (See Romans 13:1-5, Titus 3:1)

But if someone is telling you to do something that conflicts with the Word of God, something that God says not to do, don’t do it.

What you feel God is saying to you is important.  Other people have their own relationship with the Lord, you have your own.  Talk to Him directly and He will lead and guide you.  He cares for you just as much as He cares for others.  You are important to Him.
